England wins the European Championship in Belgium

Twentieth European Coarse Angling Championship in Belgium saw twenty-four teams competing on Hensies-Pommeroeul Canal, venue dominated by slider fishing.

The team – made up of Alan Scotthorne, Lee Kerry, Callum Dicks, Simon Willsmore, Sean Ashby and Will Raison – were 5th after day one.

However, after a second day comeback, England finished with a 59-point two-day total and team gold, one point in front of Russia, with Italy finishing third.
