Massive sturgeon caught in Canada

A 317.5kg (700lb) sturgeon landed on Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada, by Stuart Attenborough, a Norfolk angler

Stuart Attenborough, a keen angler from Norfolk, UK has just had a fishing trip to remember.

His most recent trip to Fraser River in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada has been a very successful one.

Chilliwack in British Columbia is home to the famous Fraser River; well known for its Sturgeon fishing. Beginning as a trickle at Mount Robson near Jasper National Park, it tumbles northwest to Prince George where it swings abruptly southward to make its way to the Pacific Ocean.

During the annual salmon run on Canada's Fraser River at the start of the sturgeon fishing season Stuart landed a massive sturgeon weighing in at an impressive 317.5kg (700lb).
It took him more than an hour and a half to reel the fish to land and it measured around 3 metres (10ft).
