Jake Casson, who fought a monster carp at Jurassic just a few weeks ago, and lost it after a prolonged battle has just come back to Thailand from the UK to try again.

The longest battle in carp fishing history ended after 12 hour with the giant fish escaping capture.

Heartbroken Jake Casson was finally beaten when the monster – thought to be a siamese carp weighing in excess 200lb – shed the hook during an arm-aching battle in searing heat on Thailand’s Jurassic Mountain Resort Fishing Park.

During the titanic tussle, staff at the complex bought the Sussex angler food and water, but Jake was left sun-burnt and exhausted when his efforts ended in failure.

A spokesman at the fishery said: “12hrs is probably the longest time anyone has ever played a carp in the history of carp fishing.

“Only those present know how brutal this fish is, the most unrelentingly stubborn specimen of ANY species we have ever witnessed. We’ve seen 70kg plus Mekongs come in on light rods in less than an hour or two but this carp made them look like pussies.

“Heavier rods have been used elsewhere and anglers have hooked big carp, and still lost them. Even In 30 years, anglers have only ever managed to put the net under really big siamese carp (80kg+) on a handful of occassions, despite anglers using jigging rods, 80lb line and much bigger hooks at places like Bungsamran.

“These fish at 80kgs are just extremely difficult to beat.”
