Children and adults teamed up to put their fishing skills to the test during a tournament in Tickenham

Pass It On Young Sports put on the competition at Jacklands Fishing Lakes to encourage families to try out some rural sports.

The aim of the match was to catch the heaviest fish and the adults helped their young team mates to learn the art of coarse fishing.

Tristan Dolman and Chloe Powell won the tournament, James Trenchard and Jacob Flint-Johnson came second and Rob Collins and David Marsh took third place.

Rob, who runs Pass It On Young Sports, said: “It was a great event. Jacklands were gracious hosts, as usual.

“A lot of families hadn’t fished before and they heard about it through our taster days.

“It is the second year we’ve run the event and the idea is to teach families about fishing and angling.”
