Hi, any advice on how to separate 2 sections of my pole. I have tried hot water, wd40, but no success.

I had that problem. Solved by gripping firmly in a small vice with rubber strips to protect pole and tapping lightly on the join while twisting with a small plastic head shaping hammer. It worked for me.
